When measuring geometric elements, contact sensors are still widely used because of their high measurement accuracy, and the operators are more accustomed to using them. But with the advent of new types of non-contact sensors, they are bound to be used more and more widely in the field of measurement. (see Figure 3.)
We expect that the measurement tasks now completed by the contact sensors mounted on the measuring machine will be increasingly replaced by contactless sensors in the future.
Contactless sensors have a revolutionary improvement in stability, enabling measurements from millions of measuring points. This is very useful for evaluating multiple surfaces, evaluating material thickness, or performing reverse analysis. (see Figure 4) non-contact sensors have been widely used in the assessment of the overall shape, shape changes such as the assessment module for measuring surface embedded operation, or to assess the stamping parts or components, the shape of the casting resin (including the comparison with 3D CAD data). They can also be used to measure virtual assembly demonstrations of body parts.
